Shelling out for Lobsters

75% of the worlds fisheries are exploited leaving fish stocks at worrying levels. In the UK the lobster market is worth 30 million a year. Without lobster small coastal towns would suffer economically.

The Lobster Hatchery is a leading marine conservation and education charity that pride themselves on managing lobster stocks around the UK.

Restaurant, Prawn on the Lawn, located in London and Padstow support the hatchery by charging £1 on every bill. They provide sustainably sourced fish in all their dishes.

Prawn on the Lawn owner, Katie Toogood said: “With seafood becoming more popular it’s important that we educate ourselves on how it gets from the sea onto our plates. At Prawn on the Lawn we want to make sure our guests realise the importance of sustainable fishing and how they can continue to enjoy seafood by educating themselves and supporting charities like the Lobster Hatchery.”
